Home CasaVerdeSmart ,,,,, All houses have one and it is almost always found in the bathroom: the mirror for making up. Whether small or large, well visible or closed in a drawer, or hidden in a niche and accompanied by a telescopic arm that allows you to extract it and position it as needed. In recent weeks we have had one in our hands that offers a minimum of technology compared to the classics: an LED frame that can be managed through a touch button.
The mirror in question, produced by Abody, is rectangular in shape, with strongly rounded corners and recessed inside a body completely in ABS plastic satin silver color that recalls the effect aluminum of Apple devices. It therefore goes very well in a bathroom or a room with modern furnishings.
Measurements : 18.5 x 13 x 0.3 centimeters, 190 grams
Mirror surface : 14 x 11 cm
The mirror, codenamed Abody LS-8912, is overall very light and remains slightly tilted backwards thanks to a removable stand , which can thus also allow it to be inserted inside a shallow drawer.
The back is slightly rounded and recalls the design of the new iMac: here too it is adopted to ensure a very thin profile and at the same time give the right space to the charging system of the internal battery .
The peculiarity, as mentioned, lies in the presence of a LED light that surrounds the mirror on three sides: a thick frame a centimeter that guarantees excellent illumination of the reflected face, even at the interior of a completely dark room.
The activation of the light is managed through a touch button on the back: a click to turn on the light at 30% intensity, a second touch to increase the intensity to 60% and a third touch to bring it to maximum intensity. One more to turn it off.
We particularly appreciated the presence of this light that, even at maximum brightness, does not have the view, even if we find ourselves with our nose a few centimeters from the mirror. It is really convenient to be able to put on make-up but also, for example, to look at the nape of the neck (the writer in fact uses it to be able to shave his entire head autonomously) through a second mirror. LED light greatly improves visibility even in cases like this, where a normal mirror can create annoying shadows in particular bathroom lighting conditions.
The only note that can be made is precisely on the touch touch, in our opinion too sensitive. There have not been rare cases in which we touched it by mistake by turning on the light when we put it back inside its bag (included in the package), forcing us to extract it to turn it off again and store it carefully holding it by the edges to avoid accidental touches. The touch button is certainly an elegant choice but perhaps a physical one would have been preferable.
As for autonomy, the light on at maximum intensity does not exceed two hours of continuous lighting: to recharge it you have to rely on the cable included in the package, as unfortunately it uses a pin plug and not the most common one – and without other preferable – microUSB connection.
Conclusions and price to the public
If you need to change the small mirror you have in the bathroom, consider purchasing the Abody one, if only for the presence of the LED frame: this is a not indifferent function and that can really improve the daily use of this small accessory.
It is on sale on Amazon at a price of 19.99 euros.
