Often also related to the smart home, or even just to the home. In recent weeks we have tried Alfawise HC 1D03, an accessory that is not connected, but which still offers help for house cleaning. Design and colors are reminiscent of the Dyson vacuum cleaner, but the price is much lower.
How it's made
Needless to deny, colors and aesthetics recall those typical of a Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner. In fact, Alfawise HC 1D03 closely resembles its best-known competitor and incorporates its dimensions, aesthetics, weight and functionality. It weighs about 1.5 kg, which of course are not felt when using it, for the simple fact that the vacuum cleaner must be pushed, or rather accompanied, with the hand: it does not hold all the weight in the hand, considering that the vacuum cleaner has a small wheel that allows you to slide on surfaces without tiring the user. The dimensions are quite compact, equal to approximately 31.50 x 23.00 x 11.80 cm.
It is mainly composed of two parts: on one side the stick, on the other the handle where the basket and the suction motor are located. The most valuable element of this vacuum cleaner is, of course, the absence of wires. After loading it, you just need to grab the handle and wander around the house hunting for dust. The dust container is more than large to be emptied rarely, and has a capacity of approximately 0.65L.
We have successfully tested it on numerous surfaces, from tiles, to carpets, from parquet to the sidewalks of a house, with dust and dirt of all kinds. The brush located on the lower part is motorized, and is suitable for cleaning carpets, beds and various fabrics.
The brush is made of ABS, and inside the vacuum cleaner offers 6 built-in lithium-ion batteries, each battery capacity of 2200 mAh. We will come back to autonomy in a while. Among other features, it has a suction power of 7000 Pa, with a noise of less than 83 dB, and delivers a power of 140 W.
How does it work
When it comes to testing such a product, making a final judgment is quite simple: the dust container cannot lie. From the first use we have seen the correct functioning of the vacuum cleaner, which seems to do its duty correctly on any type of surface. As far as we are concerned, it has managed to replace, and not simply complement, the dear and old traditional vacuum cleaner, much more bulky and corded.
Particularly useful, even if we initially thought the opposite, turned out to be the small light placed on the upper part of the brush at the bottom: in the darkest corners it allows you to highlight dirt and dust deposited on the floor.
Autonomy
It is probably the aspect that most perplexed us, even if in practice we have not had any negative experience. Faced with a recharge of about 3 hours (actually even a little less), the vacuum cleaner has an autonomy of only 25 minutes. The 25 minutes, to be honest, are effective, and allow you to clean even two large rooms from top to bottom. If you are faster and more superficial you can also get to a third room or more.
Too bad that there is no battery replacement system, so you can charge two or more, and ensure a complete cleaning of the whole house. After 25 minutes, in fact, the vacuum cleaner will have to be recharged for at least 2 and a half hours. The vacuum cleaner is recharged via a common battery charger, with the connector to be inserted on the upper part of the handle. Therefore, there is no dock in which to house it, even if in the package there is a plastic hook to be fixed to the wall that serves to hold the vacuum cleaner vertically, perhaps while it is charging.
Not just floors
Also included in the sales package are two other types of brushes, with a shorter stick, for cleaning shelves, bookcases and, in general, or even curtains. In this way the vacuum cleaner is transformed into a product with different purposes: you can even clean the machine. Also in this case, of course, the autonomy is always that of 25 minutes declared by the manufacturer.
Conclusions
To be honest, we don't have the means to make a comparison with the much more expensive Dyson, a benchmark in this sector. That said, the Alfawise HC 1D03 continues to prove to be an excellent help around the house. Well built, robust and comfortable to use, it cleans different types of surfaces without the slightest problem. The price is really attractive, and in this price range it certainly won't have many rivals.
