Amazon has acquired Ring, a US company specializing in the production of home security systems, such as smart doorbells that can be connected to your smartphone and video surveillance solutions. The two companies have not given information on the extent of the agreement, but according to Reuters Amazon would have paid about a billion dollars to obtain control of Ring. The acquisition will allow Amazon to increase its presence in home automation systems (home automation), where it has already been active for some time with some products that are able to connect and communicate with its personal assistant Alexa. After the acquisition, Ring will continue to remain autonomous from a corporate point of view, but will share information, patents and knowledge with Amazon.
