Amazon is designing a robot for the home, Bloomberg writes

Amazon is hard at work developing its first home robot, according to sources consulted by Bloomberg, usually well-informed about the US firm's future plans. There are not many other details on the project: it is known that for now it has the code name “Vesta”, as the goddess of the domestic hearth in Roman mythology, and that it is being studied at Lab126, the research and development division. of Amazon which has already made successful products such as Kindle and Echo, and forgettable others such as the failed Fire Phone smartphone.

It is not clear what Vesta will be able to do, but according to Bloomberg the new robot will be a sort of device that works through Alexa, Amazon's personal assistant, but with the additional ability to move around the house and perform certain tasks. The prototypes made so far have sensors and cameras of various types, which should help the robot to move around the house. The first test models of the new device may be available as early as next year.
