Since the Sidecar function has existed on iPadOS (and macOS), when not in direct use the iPad is fixed on the writing desk under the 4K display. But it is not only for what the Amazon Tilting Portable Tablet Stand is convenient: such an accessory becomes essential even when you are on the train, in a hotel, or traveling because in the backpack it stays very well.

Don’t say it’s too small
Like many Amazon products Tilting portable tablet holder comes in an anonymous cardboard box that contains the support and a rubber part, detached, which serves as a protection for metal tablets, but which in the end is not mandatory in the strict sense.
The dimensions speaking of a large shape 8,5 × 9,8xx3,8 cm (closed), in practice a pack of cigarettes a little wider.
It fits perfectly with the iPad. It looks small at first, but it’s actually perfect
The shape is in light gray satin metal, with a plastic tongue in the middle and a soft rubber adjustment button: the shape is rigid and solid, unless you press the round (mechanical) button on the side, to allow the rotation of the tongue, which stops when we leave it.
The surface is provided with some small rubber supports for supporting the desk and others for supporting the back of the tablet, while for the base there is optional removable rubber support.
The thickness allowed at the base is 1.2 cm maximum, while with the support the thickness is reduced to 1 net centimeter.
Olympic contortionist
The operation is very simple: once you have taken the Amazon Tilting portable tablet holder, you lightly press the large side button with one finger while with the other hand you move the central tongue to the desired position, and it’s done.
The support is designed to hold a tablet (or other, as we will see) either in a vertical position, for example for watching a film, or in an almost horizontal position, for use as a graphics tablet.
On the Amazon page, there is an image that shows it with the tongue at the top, not for support but as support, but this position was not more useful to us than others.
The specifications speak of support up to 4.9 kg, more than enough for all the tablets on the market (apart from perhaps some rugged ones which in any case would be wider than the allowed support).
In use
We have tried it with an iPad Air 2019 for most of the time (with the cover or without), but here and there we have also skimped on tests with an Amazon Fire HD 10, whose thickness is more important than the iPad but which in the support there was good and also the Vissles-M Touchscreen Monitor display (here we are a bit at the limit, because it is a 15 “display and the support has shown some limits due to the small size, at least in vertical position, but it was quite stable).
Among the greatest advantages, the fact of being in metal (which gives the impression of greater strength), easily adaptable to all degrees of inclination and to support all tested tablets, as well as being compact and very convenient to carry in a bag for travelers, which is no small feat.
Among the negative aspects is the fact that it is not adjustable in height, a function that we found comfortable with, for example, the Lamicall Tablet Holder which is larger than this and made of plastic, while here the metal dominates. If you want to make a fuss, when the tablet is in a vertical position, there is no space for the connector, which however can be placed at the top.
Considerations
Although in practice the tablets almost always show a foldable stand cover, a support such as the Amazon Tilting portable support for tablets offers better adjustments for the inclination (with the covers instead the inclination is one or at most two) and support more stable on the desk.
The fact that it is quite small and transportable is a plus because in the bag the less clutter the better and this in practice also fit in one of the internal pockets.
The cost is in line with many others, often less than a cover and, although it seems unnecessary, there is a huge difference between having it and not having it.
