AMD Ryzen processors are so popular in Japan that they are already sold through vending machines . Some Japanese no longer have to worry about resorting to a vendor, now they can only buy them as if they were literally snacks, fruits, soft drinks or juices.
A tweet posted by user Nullpo_x3100 reveals how some Japanese retailers, motivated by high demand, have taken the way of selling AMD Ryzen processors to the next level. The image shows a vending machine with a lot of AMD CPUs, mainly the 5600X .
The publication does not delve into details but, like other vending machines, it has a system to choose the desired product through a numeric keypad. In addition, there is a sign that says “8/28” possibly indicating the date this sales system was enabled.
The location of the retail store that has the vending machine is also not specified. However, as it is such a popular and widely consumed product, this decision seems to be the right one. There could even be other machines for processors in the AMD Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 segment.

Japan and the success of the AMD Ryzen
AMD's success in Japan is not a new phenomenon. The good run of the American company comes from the launch of the AMD Ryzen 3000 (Zen 2). At that point it was directly up against its most staunch competitor, Intel, and outperformed it after years of low sales.
The AMD Ryzen 3000s made people stand in long lines days before launch to get one of them in Japan. Currently, according to Wccftech, AMD has managed to position itself as the segment leader, with a 60% share with its AMD Ryzen 5000 desktop chips.
Regarding the technical characteristics, the AMD Ryzen 5600X are fourth generation desktop processors with Zen 3 architecture. They have 6 cores, 12 threads and are manufactured by TSMC under an “improved” 7 nanometer process. Its frequencies are 3.7 GHz in base and 4.6 GHz of boost.
