Given, as will be said later, that the Anker lamp offers quality lighting, the first element on which to focus attention to understand if it can be the right purchase or not, is the size. The lamp in question has rather generous measures when fully open, although it can be folded easily when not in use. To understand the size of the object, however, it is possible to refer to the same measurements reported by the manufacturer: 44.7 x 18.1 x 8 cm. In short, it is a lamp recommended for those who have a rather spacious and deep desk.
The lamp offers a flux of brightness equal to 2 x 675lm, with an electrical power of 8W; it is equipped, as anticipated, with a 5V / 2A USB output, to be able to recharge smartphones and tablets at a rather high speed. If this certainly represents an added value, the quality of the light is the main element of the lamp. First of all, it offers four different modes: normal, study, relaxation and sleep. Each of these, then, offers 5 different levels of intensity, to better adjust the light beam according to your needs. The change between one mode and another is truly radical: you go from a particularly intense white and cold light to others that are much warmer and more relaxing. In short, the Anker lamp is truly complete, and will certainly be suitable for any time of day and any environment.
The light emanating from the lamp does not create annoying reflections, does not dazzle and can easily illuminate the corner of the desk where it is positioned, spreading a rather strong light throughout the room. It is not possible for us, for obvious reasons, to verify the veracity of the life expectancy of the light estimated by the manufacturer in more than 35000 hours, but the general quality of the lamp also bodes well in this sense.
It is almost entirely made of plastic, making the body of the lamp rather light, but the total weight is over 1.5 kg due to the base, which allows the object to be stabilized. The arm, in addition to being foldable, is also rotatable, in order to direct the light beam to a certain point, so as to always find the right angle. There is also a very useful timer function, which allows the lamp to turn off automatically after 60 minutes by simply pressing a button. Too bad you can't adjust the duration of the timer, but still a welcome feature, especially when using the lamp with light in Sleep mode, before going to sleep.
Conclusions
A well-conceived LED lamp with a modern design and excellent performance. There are many light modes, each with 5 different intensities. It has the advantage of being able to be closed when not in use, as well as a swivel arm to direct the light as desired. The presence of a USB port increases the usefulness, because it allows you to recharge smartphones and tablets. Really no cons to be noted, if not the due clarification of the generous dimensions, which make it more suitable for medium-large desks.
