Home Reviews ,,,,, If it's within your budget, buy Anker SoundCore Boost. What we are recommending is a Bluetooth speaker that we have tested in recent weeks and that has really surprised us with its incredible sound performance in relation to the size and price for which it is marketed.
Simple and linear from an aesthetic point of view, this speaker is ideal for listening to music at home or outdoors thanks to its IPX5 certification which makes it resistant to splashing water: in addition it offers a USB socket that allows you to recharge even a smartphone, transforming itself into a real power bank if necessary.
As did
As soon as you take it out of the box you will appreciate the materials with which it is made: plastic sturdy for the two flat sides and covered with a soft rubber coating that is pleasant to the touch , rigid rubber for the cap protecting the sockets and quality cloth to cover the grille that completely surrounds the speaker, protecting the drivers.
At the corners of the base there are four small rubber feet that allow it to stabilize above a smooth surface, on the upper side there are the buttons for remote music control (Play / Pause and (+) and (-) for skip tracks and volume), On / Off for switching on and the UP button to activate the BassUp function which, as the name suggests, provides greater emphasis at low frequencies if necessary.
It is a Bluetooth speaker that, if desired, can be coupled to any other smartphone also via NFC or connects to a common MP3 player or any other audio source via AUX socket (3.5mm jack). Adjacent to the latter there are also the microUSB socket for recharging the internal battery and the USB output to recharge a smartphone: according to our tests, the port delivers about 1A, just enough to restore the energy of a smartphone.
Measurements: 19 x 6.3 x 5.7 cm Weight: 580 grams
It is big and heavy enough not to fit in a trouser pocket, furthermore the design is very elegant and fits well in the home within any environment, especially when surrounded by modern-style furniture. Despite this, it is IPX5 certified, in practice the casing is protected against water jets, this means that it can be used safely by the pool (but not by the sea, since there is no certification against the infiltration of dust and sand) without risking malfunctions.
How is it going
When pairing is complete (just turn it on by holding the On button for a few seconds and search for Soundcore Boost in the list of nearby Bluetooth devices) and start playing any music track, you will notice the high audio quality of the case.
What is most striking is the cleanliness of the sounds even at 30% of the volume, already more than enough to act as a background in a medium-sized room. At maximum volume the power delivered is incredible, like other speakers we have tried in the past and which cost even more than double.
With Soundcore Boost, Anker did a great job in terms of bass reproduction as well. They are well present in any condition, but it is by activating the BassUp function (active by default at start-up) that the magic happens. In songs like Sting's Englishman in New York, the bass melody literally vibrates the surface on which the speaker is located.
The audio reproduction takes place at 360 degrees, even if the drivers positioned in the rear half are concerned only with reproducing the low frequencies, leaving the task of reproducing mainly the mids and highs to the drivers placed at the front. This subdivision is even more impressive in songs where vocals predominate, such as the introduction of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody where you find yourself practically enveloped in melody.
It is particularly suitable for playing rock songs (a real pleasure with Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N 'Roses) while it did not surprise us particularly with classical music, such as Debussy's piano or Rossini's strings in Guglielmo Tell, which seemed slightly subdued compared to the rest.
Conclusions
If you want a Bluetooth speaker to take on a picnic and that is able to amaze your friends, take this new speaker from Anker seriously, because it really has all the credentials to replace even a possible home speaker to relax with. your own music alone or in company.
Water resistance, 10 hours of battery life and emergency charging of a smartphone are additional functions that complete what we consider from every point of view one of the best Bluetooth speakers currently available on the market for the price range in which it is positioned.
