The speakers integrated into the latest generation TVs are pretty good, but if you want something more then you need to turn your attention to a dedicated system. There are many solutions currently on the market but recently soundbars are popular, speakers with an often minimalist design and that go well with a TV as they take up very little space but ensure a decidedly superior audio quality.
We recently had the chance to try Anker Soundcore Infini Mini for a few days, a really compact and elegant soundbar. It has a good quality / price ratio, connects to any TV via cable or wirelessly (even to a smartphone, for example for music) and the equalization can be adapted to music or movies in one click.

How it's made
Anker Soundcore Infini Mini is really compact (size 55 x 10 x 7 cm approximately) and the design is really essential: a polycarbonate chassis entirely covers the case except for the front side, where we find a solid perforated metal cover that lets the drivers breathe.
E 'black color and the outer shell is shiny, a real magnet for dust. It rests on two large rubber feet, thus avoiding any contact on the shelf where it will be stored. If necessary, it can be fixed to the wall using the two screws with plug included in the package.
On the right side, a push-button panel offers direct access to the power button, the two buttons to adjust the volume and a fourth button to select the input mode. Buttons that in reality we will hardly go to use as the remote control is much more practical, where there are also other buttons that offer greater control of the soundbar.

How to connect Anker Soundcore Infini Mini
It is possible to connect the soundbar to the TV in three different ways via cable or wirelessly.
Connection via Aux-RCA audio cable
To connect Anker Soundcore Infini Mini to televisions that do not have an audio output optical, simply insert the 3.5mm audio jack plug into the appropriate socket on the soundbar and the two white and red cables into the respective sockets normally positioned on the back or on one of the two sides of the TV.
Connection via optical cable
To connect the soundbar to tel Evisors equipped with an optical audio output just use the relative cable supplied by connecting one of the two ends to the optical audio socket of the soundbar and the other end to the optical audio output (OPT OUT) of the TV.
Connection via Bluetooth
Finally, it is possible to connect the soundbar to a television equipped with Bluetooth by activating the mode wireless (just press the B button on the remote control) and search for the speaker from the Bluetooth devices menu near the TV.
This mode actually allows you to connect the soundbar to any Bluetooth device, such as smartphones and tablets . This way you can temporarily turn it into a stereo for the living room or to watch a movie from your tablet while enjoying superior sound.
How it works
To use the Anker Soundcore Infini Mini soundbar you must first turn it on. You can do this from the keypad integrated in the speaker or directly by pressing the On / Off button on the remote control.
Switching on is quite quick: in just 3 seconds it is ready for use. At this point all that remains is to press the button relating to the type of connection desired. If the soundbar is connected to the TV via an RCA audio cable you will have to press the AUX button, if it is connected via an optical audio cable the button to press is marked with the abbreviation OPT while if you want to enable the Bluetooth connection then just click the button B.
Film or Music? To each his own button
If you are using the soundbar to enhance the audio of a movie it may be a good idea to click on the Movie button, while if you are viewing a video clip music or you are listening to music from your smartphone makes the difference the Music button.
These two buttons actually do nothing but change the soundbar's equalization by adapting the various frequencies to these two types of use . With the Music mode, more emphasis will be given to the mid-low frequencies while with the Film mode you will perceive a better reproduction of speech.
How it sounds
We have enjoyed using this soundbar for a few days, alternating its use without only between music and films, but also combining it with documentaries and daily TV shows. The difference between the speakers integrated in our TV (a very recent Sony Bravia generation) and the soundbar is evident.
In the attached video test we tried to adjust the volume of TV and soundbar to the same level, switching between modes while playing some programs to try to make you hear the difference. Keep in mind that the microphone used is the one integrated in our digital compact, therefore of not excellent quality. The difference is also perceived by our video, although live is another story.
You know when you listen to music from your smartphone and close it in a drawer? Here, this is how the sound of the TV will seem to you after using the soundbar for just a few minutes. The audio of the latter not only offers better equalization but, benefiting from the better positioning (the speakers integrated in the TVs are normally found on the back, with the soundbar the audio is front), it is much clearer and more enveloping.
If the voices from the TV appear cold and metallic, with Anker Soundcore Infini Mini they seem much warmer and “real”, as if they were talking to people physically present in our living room. What is perhaps missing is greater power: at maximum volume, in fact, we fill a medium-sized living room and it is difficult to talk to those who sit next to us (in the most excited scenes), but that extra notch is missing to say “ok, I'm not going anymore at the cinema “.
In fact, the writer has had the opportunity to compare this soundbar with much higher quality TV audio systems, consisting not only of a front speaker but also of subwoofers and small satellite speakers placed in the corners of the room. The comparison does not exist as they are two completely different systems not only in type but also and above all in cost, however if you are looking for such powerful and engaging audio then you know that the Anker soundbar alone is not for you.
Conclusions
Our video test may not really do justice to the soundbar, but the difference with the speakers built into the TV is remarkable and once connected to the TV is unlikely to be able to do without it. In four words? It is an elegant, compact, economical and functional solution.
