The new Anker Soundcore Space NC headphones are among the best over-ear solutions that our editorial team has had the opportunity to try in recent years. They are elegant and light, the audio quality is excellent and the touch controls eliminate the need to “learn” to use them.
Sales packaging
The box, made of illustrated cardboard, has a magnetic opening, is sturdy and beautiful to look at (keep this in mind in gift case). Inside we find a hard case covered with a very nice to touch fabric. It has a handle that makes it easy to transport and you can access the inside by opening a tear-proof zipper that seemed very solid. The headphones are folded on one side, while a small mesh pocket in a corner holds the microUSB charging cable and the audio jack cable with built-in remote control and microphone for wired connection.

How they are made
The structure of the Anker Soundcore Space NC is mainly made of polycarbonate, with a metal-like paint for the shell of the pavilions. For the price for which they are proposed, perhaps we would have liked to have found aluminum for the external body, but the polycarbonate – whose painting partially simulates its appearance – allows to contain the weight.
The surface external flat of the pavilions is covered with a thin layer of imitation leather, the same material but accompanied by a considerable padding we find it instead in the inner ring, the cushion that rests above the ear. This section is very soft and offers high comfort even after several hours of continuous use.
The padding with leather cover is also found in the internal section of the headband that rests on the head, headband the whose length can be adjusted to adapt it to the various conformations of the head. The inner core is made of a metal sheet, very resistant but at the same time flexible enough for a better fit.

Keys, switches and ports of the Anker Soundcore Space NC headphones
The switch to activate or disable active noise cancellation (NC) and the hole for one of the three microphones present. Along the external profile of the right pavilion there is instead the On / Off button, the button for answering phone calls and calling up the voice assistant, the microUSB socket for recharging the internal battery, the AUX port for cable connection and the two remaining microphones. Between the two buttons there is also an LED indicator.
The most interesting section is the external cover, in leather-like, of the right pavilion. Below there are in fact the touch controls that allow you to control the music with the simple touch of the fingertip. In fact, just slide your finger up to increase the volume level, down to lower it; forward (to the right) to go to the next song, backward (to the left) to go to the previous one. The single touch instead allows you to pause and resume music playback.
How are they doing
The audio quality is very good overall. The two 40mm drivers reproduce all frequencies quite faithfully. With classical music the mid-highs are perceived very well, which are clear and crystalline, while switching to rock music they work very well even at low frequencies. They are headphones that “pump” when needed, without ever exaggerating in one way or another.
The maximum volume level is not deafening, but sufficient to completely isolate yourself from external noises even without activating the NC switch. With medium-low volumes, the latter significantly reduces external noise, with excellent soundproofing for “light” music listening.
As regards autonomy, the manufacturer declares 20 hours in wireless with NC active. In our tests we exceeded the total 12 hours without the headphones running out. Beyond all predictions, however, the autonomy declared with the use via cable and active NC: 50 hours, which become “unlimited” if you do without noise cancellation. The battery charges in about three hours.
The noise cancellation is very good. Even without playing any piece of music, the difference between On and Off mode is palpable: in this specific case the noises, for example of street traffic, are significantly reduced. Obviously the best is obtained by listening to the music at the same time. In this case the soundproofing is almost total, isolating the user from external disturbances.
Conclusions
Anker Soundcore Space NC headphones, as mentioned, are among the best over-ear solutions around. They are light, comfortable and super easy to use. Touch controls for music playback are intuitive right out of the box. Never once have we had to remove them, especially in the early hours, to look for a specific button: in fact there is no need to learn the position of the keys because there are very few of them.
The hard case for transport it is a plus for those who need to carry them with them perhaps with a backpack without paying attention to the other objects stored in the same bag.
