Apple announced it had given up on selling AirPower, the promised wireless charging base for iPhones and other devices in 2017. The company said the product would not meet its “high quality standards,” to the point. to make it necessary to close the project. AirPower was presented in September 2017 with the aim of putting it up for sale in 2018, which was not the case. IPhone X and later, Apple Watch, and AirPods case are compatible with wireless charging, but to date their owners have to use non-Apple wireless cradles. The company had designed its AirPower to make it possible to charge multiple devices, and several of them, at the same time. However, the development of the product turned out to be more complex than expected, eventually leading to its cancellation.
