We recently tried the Aukey EP-B80 earphones, a quality alternative to classic headphones for gym workouts. In fact, they enjoy excellent soundproofing, stay stable in the ears and offer the latest technologies in terms of wireless connection and charging.
How they are made
The whole structure is in plastic coated with a pleasant rubberized finish. Each earphone is accompanied by a thin rubber headband that improves the stability of the headphones when inserted into the ears: the headbands are very soft, easy to put on and greatly improve the stability of the headphones.
In this regard, this is facilitated by the wide supply of interchangeable rubber pads, available in sizes S, M and L both in the classic silicone and in the Memory Foam variant which slightly reduces the level of soundproofing but exponentially increases adherence in the ear cavity. and comfort in prolonged use, effectively eliminating the classic “sucking” effect of silicone rubber pads.
The earphones are square and with strongly rounded corners. Along the cable of the right earphone is the remote control for controlling music playback, rather large and consisting of three buttons (+, 0 and -), an LED indicator, a hole for the microphone on the back and the USB-C socket on the side, covered by a rubber cap, for recharging the internal battery.
Overall, the earphones are very light and are sold together with a pocket-sized silicone case that allows them to be protected and transported with ease.

How are they doing
The audio quality is very good indeed. It is superior to that of other headphones designed for sportsmen especially as regards the amplification of low frequencies, very present and well balanced with the rest of the sound spectrum.
The bass literally “pump” in the ears without obscuring the mid-high frequencies, which are still present and ringing when needed. The general impression is that of having in your ears a pair of headphones of a much higher quality than that actually needed to be able to train in the gym, where the aim is simply to have a good, well-soundproofed headphone with powerful sound.
With Aukey EP-B80 you have the best of both worlds, between an almost deafening maximum volume level, a perfect balance between the various frequencies and functional soundproofing from external noise.
In this regard, in our tests we preferred them with Memory Foam rubbers for their better adherence to the ears, also due to the fact that the writer cannot bear the aforementioned “sucking” effect of the classic rubbers, which create a sort of pressure on the ears. inside of the ears. With this last type of supports, greater benefits are obtained when you want total soundproofing from external noise, so they are ideal in the gym or in closed areas, where having a watchful ear on what is happening in the surrounding environment is not it affects your safety. However, the Memory Foam rubbers are much more comfortable, in the long run they do not tire the ears and only slightly reduce the degree of soundproofing, filtering general noises but letting the loudest ones pass (such as the honking of a car horn. a few meters away).
As for the battery, the user manual says that a full charge ensures up to 8 hours of continuous music playback. The headphones arrived home completely discharged and we can say that with just 10 minutes of charging we were able to make them play for more than 1 hour.
Conclusions
Aukey EP-B80 are for sportsmen who are not satisfied with simple earphones for training in the gym. In addition to the high audio quality offered, they are pleasant to wear, beautiful to look at but above all they offer the latest technologies including Bluetooth 5.0, aptX and USB-C port, ideal for fast charging and reducing the number of cables if you have latest generation smartphones, tablets and computers.
