HS102 is an acronym that identifies a stand for headphones, capable of hosting them when we are not using them. Let's be clear, here at Cyber Layman we like headphones a lot, better if they are Bluetooth and of quality.
We use them to delight ourselves with the symphonies of Hans Zimmer and Jack Wall, the sweet melancholy of Jóhann Jóhannsson but not we don't even disdain the ballads of Metallica and that bad boy air of Led Zeppelin: despite this there is always some colleague who wants to hear the latest song of the boy band of the moment and the headphones are our lifeline.
The problem is that when we don't use them you never know where to put them: in a drawer or on the desk they take up too much space, not only for the actual size but also often for the cables which then risk clash with USB sticks, mice and all the other gadgets that now stand firmly next to the mouse and keyboard.
A headphone stand is a purchase that, initially, does not seem so necessary, but little by little its usefulness becomes clear, in particular if the investment in cuf fie was important and we want to preserve, in addition to the listening quality, also all the constructive characteristics (avoiding scratches and especially unwanted falls).
For many, perhaps for all
Avantree with HS102 offers an interesting Stand capable of supporting different types of headphones, starting with the Audition Pro of the same brand (of we talked about here) up to the most famous models in the market (AKG, Bowser & Wilkins, Bose, Sony, Razer and others).
It is actually a fairly simple product, a capable metal arm to support a pair of headphones by supporting them in the upper arch, with a recess at the base suitable for accessories, such as a USB antenna (in the case of headphones that use a dedicated wireless) or a cable (for analog headphones). However, we would like to underline the usefulness that in addition to making the desk more tidy, they are also a good piece of furniture in the living room and save the space of a drawer.
HS102, the easy and practical DIY
The box that arrives shows the stand disassembled, because probably when assembled it would have taken up too much space and the shipping costs would have gone up. In any case, the assembly is a few minutes operation, in the back of the box there are the instructions and in practice in three steps the stand is beautiful and ready.
The upper and lower part is made of rubber soft, able to respectively hold the headband or support accessories such as antennas, cables, jacks and various adapters (but also car keys, USB sticks or other, the desk will be full of them). The arm, slightly inclined, is in satin metal, elegant but discreet in a dark suit.
The height of 25 centimeters of the stand guarantees compatibility with all headphones on the market: we tested it with at least six pairs of headphones we had available (2 AKG, Audio MX, Beyerdinamic, Razer, Avantree) and the arm has always worked correctly. Only on the occasion of the Razers, the upper rubber support proved too narrow to accommodate the arch in the maxi format of the latter, which instead of entering the recess, simply rested on it.
the lower part, which among other things also shows the Avantree logo printed (but with such a soft rubber, perhaps with time destined to disappear) is intended to accommodate objects, and the rather viscous surface is comfortable to place and take, without let nothing slip.
The hand of gods of the headphones
Many readers will read this review thinking it is a completely useless object, but those who really have a pair of headphones and appreciate their quality cannot help but think how a stand completes the purchase, perhaps for a few hundred Euros, and proves useful and elegant at the same time. Obviously, each user will evaluate according to their needs, but considering the price of 24.99 euros on offer on Amazon.it it is certainly a small part compared to the cost of any pair of Bluetooth headphones for living room or studio, and to a large extent also for those with cable.
Pro : • Elegant and useful • The bottom is also convenient for other uses
Cons : • The upper housing does not fit well on all headphones
Price : 24.99 Euro
