We have already tried other “personal” fans on this site but also the model you find in this article has its merits. In fact, the exaggerated bombardment that comes from television advertising on channels such as mediashopping leads a bit to doubt the effectiveness of these little gadgets and we wanted to try it in this late summer still sultry and full of mosquitoes.
In reality, if ordered directly in China, these fans / humidifiers cost very little and certainly the hidden accessory costs and the risks are very few if you are not naive. In fact, the device comes without a power supply and you can therefore rely on any power supply or battery charger capable of delivering 5V and from 1.5 A to 2A.
In practice, an iPad charger will do just fine.
We have chosen to try Bilikay Mini Air with a very common 6600 mAh powerbank since the USB-Coaxial cable not long about 1.2 meters did not allow us to carry it on the table in front of the sofa … :-) With a powerbank available, of course, the placement is very versatile: you can take it to the garden, to the sea or to the hottest room in the house.

Like the other models already tested, this fan made in the shape of a Box has a particular feature: it uses a water tank in which you can put cold water or ice cubes to make it work also as an auditor: honestly we will reserve this function for all winter when we need it to offer some humidity to the orchids we have on the veranda since a load still lasts 8 hours thanks to the diffusion system with a multi-septum pewter system.

Obviously, apart from understanding how to pour water for the humidification capacity, the Bilikay Mini Air does not need great instructions and frankly, coming directly from China, those included are not very intelligible. . Let's also forget the idea of ”purification” of the air: there is a fan that passes through a semi-open or semi-transparent filter. For the rest, when we activate the button with the snow crystal, the blowing of the humidification section also starts, which also starts a LED that cycles between different colors.

There is one thing that Bilikay Mini Air does very well: use the front part with the adjustable plastic blades to orient the flow even better which, depending on the distance of the device from you and the selected power, will guarantee you a direct relief from the heat and humid summer days.
The different power or rotation speed of the fan obviously has its pros and cons: at maximum speed the noise emitted is not secondary and could be annoying in the long term, at medium speed you can manage the compromise while at minimum speed, considering that you can keeping it really close will not bother you more than a common fan with the advantage that you can place it anywhere and get an excellent cooling quality even at the lowest power.
Does it make sense to use it at night?
See that you can also place it on a bedside table and connect it to a power supply.You can also use a timer or smart controlled socket to keep it on in the pre-sleep phase and then turn it off so as not to wake up with an annoying stiff neck. The LED is not very powerful but it helps to identify the start and stop button even at night.
A secondary benefit not to be overlooked
Even with minimal ventilation, the small box has a secondary advantage: it keeps mosquitoes away! We have in fact used it in outdoor dinners or at home (even on vacation), in places where mosquitoes had already occupied their attack positions and the continuous movement of the air has always had the advantage of keeping them away from our arms. and bare legs for the summer and the heat. Outdoors the noise is also less annoying, the powerbank behaves very well and the system works properly.
Conclusions
We were very satisfied with the small box: cheap and effective, it also accompanied us while writing these notes, keeping away heat and mosquitoes. At the price of 20 Euro it is a very portable and compact system, which can also be used as a humidifier anywhere. It has nothing miraculous but it is simply effective.
