Choetech USB-C Dual Wireless Charging Pad, the review
The world of Qi wireless charging
The world of Qi wireless chargers has literally exploded a few months ago: induction charging in the smartphone world was born first in the Android world (with models like Samsung Galaxy S6 or Google Nexus 4) but it is with the adoption by the iPhone (with 2017 models, then continued with 2018 models) that the market has finally found its valid identity.
Today there are many on the market, with very different characteristics but there are still few that offer a double charge, very useful for those who, in the family, have different models of compatible Qi smartphones.
Choetech USB-C Dual Wireless Charging Pad is a good example, comfortable and efficient at the same time and which among other things offers an interesting compatibility with the iPhone world.

Packaging and Look
Inside the essential package, there are the charger, the power supply and a USB-C / USB-A cable. This, which in our opinion is the standard that we will see more and more, can also be used if necessary for the data transfer (we checked) between a not brand new Mac and a USB-C drive (like this LaCie for example).
The charger comes with a somewhat anonymous shape and with a refinement in the only chrome finishes that make it a little vintage.
The USB-C / USB-A cable, which can also carry data if necessary
The two charging areas are clearly distinguished by a divider and the two clearly visible circular batteries: when we place a smartphone, a small blue LED lights up in the upper part to indicate its operation (obviously also visible on the smartphone display that is charging ).
The operation is intuitive but we specify that, as it seemed to us, there is no master and a slave battery and the first smartphone can be placed independently on the right or left with the same result.
Ditto using only one phone or two phones at the same time, we did not notice substantial differences with earnings in very minimal percentages.
The recharge
For the charging tests we used an iPhone 8 model and a Samsung Galaxy S9, both compatible and certified for Qi induction charging.
The tests were carried out with the phones on and on weekend days, therefore with telephone interventions to a minimum: obviously for both models, connected to Wi-Fi, the services continued in the background.
The Galaxy S9 took a whopping four hours to fully charge, starting at 11% and hitting half the charge in about two hours, with very steady growth.
The charging progression of the Samsung Galaxy
the iPhone 8 was essentially identical to the companion, although growth was higher in the first two hours, then slowed down in the next two.
This motivation finds the solution in the fact that Apple has set this terminal to slow down the induction charge in the last 25% in order to avoid overheating problems, which we do not know is present on the Galaxy.
Compared to other tests, where the Galaxy had proved much more powerful in the challenge, the Choetech USB-C Dual Wireless Charging Pad proved to be more suitable for use with iPhone, offering a more or less similar result.
However, remember that this type of test is subject to many variables, such as environmental disturbances and background consumption of the phone.

Final considerations
Choetech USB-C Dual Wireless Charging Pad proved to be a good charger. While having a standard charge of only 5W, it has potentially proved more promising than other fast-charging models.
There were no overheating problems, maintaining acceptable temperatures.
The look is a bit vintage but the operation is flawless, and the USB-C cable is very versatile in different locations, especially for travelers and can use it if necessary, with among other things a very affordable price for anyone. , even by those who have only one smartphone.
Choetech USB-C Dual Wireless Charging Pad can of course also be used with only one smartphone at a time
Pro : • Despite not being fast-charging, it proved to be fast • The positioning is quite free and has not lost its charge even by slightly moving the terminals • It works indiscriminately with one or two smartphones
Against: • The look is a bit retro
