While browsing the web, the autoplay of multimedia contents can be quite annoying . Currently on Chrome the ability to mute a tab occurs by making two clicks : the first with the right button on the desired tab, and the second on the option “Mute site audio” .
At the moment Chrome indicates, with a small icon next to the tab name, if that tab is playing sound.
Google intends to change this icon, making it a real button , by pressing which you can silence the annoying tab on the fly.
The change is currently being tested on Chrome Canary , and we still don't know if and when it will be released in the stable version, but in the meantime you can see it at work below.
