In January of this year, Google launched Tab Groups on Chrome for Android. Those who didn’t like the feature could happily disable it via a Chrome flag, but in version 91, Google removed this possibility, causing an uproar in the community.
Now after countless requests and feedback from users, Google is finally making some big changes to the way tab groups work. The giant is in fact experimenting with two new changes in the Beta version available on the Play Store. The first change is that links set to automatically open in a new tab will no longer create a group.
The second change adds instead a new “Open in new tab” option in the context menu that opens when you long press on a link, allowing users to open the link in a new tab.
