Chuwi Hi 8 SE review: only 90 € for a tablet that lives up to expectations

Home Hi-Tech Android World ,,,,, Cyber Layman tests the Chuwi Hi 8 SE Android tablet, one of the cheapest of its kind, which for this reason has to compromise on technical characteristics, without giving up a respectable aesthetic. If you want to spend less than 90 euros for an interesting looking tablet, here's what you need to know about this product.

Recensione Chuwi Hi 8 SE, il tablet piccolo nel prezzo, esteticamente pregevole, con qualche compromesso tecnico

Chuwi Hi 8 SE is a tablet that from an aesthetic point of view has nothing to envy to other more famous and expensive competitors. It offers an 8-inch diagonal, with very well optimized side frames, and more pronounced upper ones, which allow you to keep a firm grip, especially when using the tablet in landscape mode. As already mentioned, it offers a panel with an 8-inch diagonal and 1920 x 1200 resolution, and a pixel density of 283 ppi, naturally IPS technology.

Among other technical features, the tablet offers a 1.1 GHz MediaTek MT8735 Quad Core CPU, flanked by an ARM Mali-T720 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of integrated memory, expandable up to 128 GB via MicroSD slot.

At the multimedia level, the service equipment is the usual one, with a front and rear room, respectively 2 and 5 MP. It is equipped with a 2.4 GHz / 5.0 GHz Dual Band WiFi module.

By reading the service equipment, you already have a clear picture of the tablet. As previously stated, aesthetically nothing has to fear compared to other more famous competitors, but just turn it on to notice the compromises.

First of all the display: it's not bad, it's well defined and the viewing angles are sufficient. The color, however, tends particularly to yellow. Using the tablet alone does not pay too much attention to the trend, but just place any other device next to it to notice this color.

As for everyday use, it is useless to go around it: Chuwi Hi 8 SE is by no means lightning. On the contrary, there is clearly a lack of reactivity and fluidity. After all, such a low price, with an overall pleasant aesthetic, had to hide some compromises.

It must be said that the basic applications of the Android ecosystem all work without particular problems. You can surf, manage mail, browse social media, and even play some casual games. A tablet therefore that has no claim to challenge the greats in the sector, but which can be useful for several reasons.

First of all, it can be an excellent gift for parents or children, or it can be a peripheral to be used at home as a management center for connected smart devices.

Furthermore, a use as a mobile media player could be appreciable, considering that there are no problems whatsoever with the playback of streaming movies, nor with the viewing of photos or listening to music.

From the multimedia point of view, it goes without saying that the front camera is absolutely insufficient for taking photos, it really serves for some Sunday selfies, or in any case to start video conversations, but without too many pretensions. Also on the rear camera it is better not to rely on it, considering that the photos are mediocre with good light, almost useless to shoot in the dark.

Conclusion

Chuwi Hi 8 SE has its winning weapon in price. As already mentioned, it really lends itself to many uses: a gift for parents, little ones, or those who have no pretensions to use at the highest levels, while it is suitable as a multimedia center or as a center for managing connected peripherals at home.

You can buy it for 87 euros directly at this address with shipping from Europe, or with a guarantee of fast delivery and with the certainty of not running into customs duties. Needless to say, the price is amply justified by the pretty good aesthetics.
