This special category includes Anker ToughShell Bright, a case that we have used constantly over the last few weeks and that initially struck us for its particular design, which mixes faux leather and fabric to give a touch of elegance to the phone, improving its resistance to wear. wear and grip during use.

What you perceive when handling the case is how much care the company has dedicated to its realization right down to the finishes , with precise cutouts and contours near the doors and buttons side, which remain well protected inside the shell. In this regard, we particularly appreciated the drilling for microphone and loudspeaker in place of the wider openings that companies adopt as they are certainly easier to make. Each hole not only fits perfectly with those found on the bottom of the smartphone, but is also more beautiful to see, thus recalling in part the design of the phone that will be covered with the case.
The shell perfectly follows the curvatures of the iPhone, with a structure in polycarbonate and TPU with reinforcements at corners and edges, a winning combination that ensures excellent protection of the phone from impacts while keeping the case rather flexible, thus facilitating the extraction and removal of the smartphone inside.
There is also a thin slightly raised front edge that protects the device's screen even when facing down, an advantage that is, however, nullified if (such as in our case) the display is accompanied by a tempered glass film.
The case is all black , so it goes well with the iPhone 7 in this shade, especially if you opt for the matte black model that recalls the satin finish of the shell. On the other hand, the back of the cover is different, covered for three quarters of the surface with a layer of woven fabric (light gray and dark gray).
The remaining lower quarter of the space is instead characterized by a layer of synthetic leather in PU and which therefore reproduces the appearance, tactile sensation and advantages of real leather , but not the smell. The company's Anker brand is stamped in the center and everything is fixed with the same painstaking care that can be seen in every corner of the case.
Elegance aside, one of the advantages of this case lies in the protection guaranteed against the most common falls (about 1 meter in height), especially when compared to its extreme lightness: in the hand it seems almost a feather and in fact our kitchen scale confirms that it weighs only 20 grams , which will thus be added to the iPhone 7 (138g) with the result that you will have a still rather light and manageable phone in your hand .
This case, like many others, improves the grip of the smartphone and is also nice to touch when you let your fingers slide on the back. It is also easier to get dirty: even if the color hides the powder well, spilling the coffee on it could stain it. In cases like this a close encounter with a brush and soap is necessary, but you have to be careful: rub lightly, otherwise there is a risk of ruining the fabric.
Wear is another aspect to consider when purchasing the case. After a month of use it is still in excellent condition, the leather is intact while the fabric begins to show the first signs of life lived, with small balls of wool that occasionally rise along the edges.
