Combaterwing CW90 is a mouse designed for gamers whose intentions are both to have a product suitable for use in video games, on the other hand to maintain careful control over the budget
From these points of view, we searched the Amazon portal to find interesting offers and we focused on this CW90 which, although at first glance it seems an above all economic product, in reality reserves more than some surprises.
Arrived in an anomalous cardboard box, with the real mouse and a small instruction card inside, the situation was immediately reversed when, once the USB connector was connected -A at the iMac this immediately lit the brand on the back and a second LED inside the wheel.
The color, which for those who follow us in the reviews of products for videogamers is now a trademark, gives the mouse a different, more aggressive look Ivo and personal, which among other things can be changed with a simple click on the button just below the wheel, even if the resolution changes together with the color (from 800 DPI red to 3800 DPI purple).
The shape of the mouse is unequivocally right-handed: the black color of the body marks all the materials, with the exception of the wheel and the side buttons in metal: for the rest the everything is made of different plastics, designed to provide an optimal grip in all situations.
In this the mouse can do it partly in the thumb area, while in the other areas when the hand is sweaty the plastic suffers a little.
The resolution (up to 3800 dpi) is good, higher than the average of cheap mice and even that of some more expensive mice, and the weight is well balanced: we have appreciated the USB cable in braided nylon, excellent for avoiding both knots and hooking to some side of the table, even if the mouse lacks a little in the management of surfaces , for which we recommend the use of a mat.
Since there is no battery there are no problems in terms of duration or performance drops.
CW90, for Mac with help
Once connected to the Mac this has been correctly viewed from the Mouse panel and is It was possible to check it right away without installing anything with an iMac with El Capitan (but we don't see any problems even with older OSes).
Compatibility with Mac, which however is not officially there , appears clear in the impossibility of modifying some parameters, such as the customization of the side buttons, which are fundamental in games.
Of the six total buttons, the fact of not being able to use three is a bit 'a shame so we searched the net for a valid solution and crossed the Steermouse software, basically a system preference which, once installed, allows precise control of (practically) any mouse on the m market, both buttons and movement.
The panel did not identify the CW90 mouse at all, but just enough to let us customize the side buttons and some adaptation on acceleration and sensitivity, which are then essential factors for us for a complete experience of each mouse.
The CW90 appeared together with Steermouse a good product (in particular if used together with the mat by AUKEY), without pretending to be an icon in the sector or a legendary product but a good companion for those who already have a mouse for general use of the Mac (for example, Apple's MagicMouse) and want something more dedicated when they close Photoshop or Excel and occasionally open Starcraft or Diablo.
CW90 is in the meantime that we write these lines at a strong discount on Amazon.it, at only 15.99 euros, a very much price tempting if you are trying to optimize spending in relation to functions. While for Steermouse (which we remember it is only necessary for customization, not for operation) users can contact the manufacturer's website directly, which offers it for 19.99 euros and which you can also use for other input devices.
