In the past we have tried and reviewed some LED lamps which, thanks to their waterproofing and solar panel charging, were mainly suitable for outdoor use. Daping L802A is based on the same concept, that is to offer an LED light that turns on automatically when the user passes, but designed to work inside your home.
It is rather compact, specifically it measures about 19 x 3 x 1.5 centimeters and is characterized by a body mainly in brushed aluminum . On the other hand, the cover of the 10 LEDs and the two side inserts are made of good quality plastic where, on one side, the microUSB input for charging the internal battery, on the other hand, the switch to switch from OFF to ON or to AUTO, to activate the operation via the built-in motion sensor, which can be identified at a glance eye from a half sphere protruding from the center of the lamp.
On the back there is a metal plate to which a wide magnetic strip is attached: one side of the latter is covered with a layer 3M adhesive useful for locking the magnetic plate where you prefer, thus easily hooking the lamp in the most congenial point of the house for your use. From this point of view we were sorry not to find at least one other magnetic strip to be able to move the lamp if necessary in more areas of the house: in this way the quick coupling-release system is actually useful only in the case in which you have to recharge the battery or when you decide to detach it to use it as a torch, perhaps during night walks from one room to another. We have not had the opportunity to check, but any commercially available adhesive magnetic tape could work. house, for example just above the kitchen sink, a point that, especially in the evening, despite the light in the room, remains quite dark. But the lamp turns out to be comfortable – as well as particular from the point of view of the final effect – blocked for example inside a drawer or in the wardrobe: in both cases the slightest movement is detected by the sensor, which immediately turns on the lamp. . The light stays on for 20 seconds: if no other movement is detected during this time, it switches off automatically, saving battery.
For example, it can also be fixed on the skirting board in the corridor, thus offering a light point to your pet during night walks . The light, guaranteed by the 10 LEDs, offers warm and comfortable lighting, excellent precisely in home environments where a light with cold shades in some environment could actually be out of tune.
lamp also incorporates a sensor for the detection of ambient light , it follows that during the day or with the light on in the room where the lamp is located, any movement detected will not activate light, thus saving battery when it is not actually needed. The lamp detects movements up to about 1 meter away for a range of 120 degrees: with use in automatic activation mode, in our case above the kitchen sink, the battery (600 mAh) has ensured autonomy for more than 7 consecutive days. Using it instead with manual activation, the lighting did not exceed a total of 4 hours.
