Facebook , also due to the lack of transparency on the use of user data , is certainly not one of the most love of the world. However, billions of people use its services on a daily basis, including those of Instagram and WhatsApp . However, the social network is trying to make it a little easier to transfer data off the site , by expanding its existing data export tool with a new update.
Thanks to this update users will be able to go to the Facebook settings menu to activate the new transfer tools. The posts and notes can thus be exported to Google Docs, Blogger and WordPress , making them easy to archive and the saving on external platforms . Exporting photos and videos to applications like Google Photos and Dropbox was already supported.
If you want to try, go to the Settings menu of your profile, and under “ Your information on Facebook ” you will find the tab “ Transfer a copy of your information “. From there you can choose between photos , videos , posts and notes before start exporting. Depending on the platform you choose, it may be necessary to grant permissions to Facebook to transfer your data. While the tool is limited to just three external apps right now, the company hopes to expand the supported data types and partners in the future .
