Fast and Furious 10, scheduled for release on May 19, 2023, continues to take shape. After some rumours, the production led by Vin Diesel confirmed that Jason Momoa, known worldwide for his role as Aquaman or Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, joined the cast of said feature film. The news, of course, has caused surprise among fans of the popular saga.
“The Fast family continues to grow. Welcome, Jason Momoa,” mentions the message published by the franchise's official Twitter account.
Although Universal has not shared more details, Variety mentions that Jason Momoa will play an important character. However, it is not known if he will reinforce Toretto's usual gang or if he will play an antagonist. At least the latest famous actors to join the franchise have played enemy roles. Including John Cena, who was the great signing of Fast and Furious 9.
The most recent years have been quite hectic for Jason Momoa's career. After Aquaman, the actor appeared in Zack Snyder's Justice League, Sweet Girl and Dune; not forgetting that he stars in See, the original series of Apple TV +. Of course, before participating in Fast and Furious 10, Momoa has a commitment with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which if nothing unforeseen arises will be released in theaters on December 16.
Fast and Furious 10, meanwhile, will be the penultimate feature film in the main saga, as the eleventh production will close the curtain on the Torettos' story. This does not mean, however, that the franchise has come to an end. In the middle of last year, Vin Diesel himself confirmed that another spin-off is on the way, now starring Charlize Theron (Cipher).
With the signing announced this week, the cast of Fast and Furious 10 is made up of Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), Michelle Rodríguez (Letty Ortiz), Tyrese Gibson (Roman), Song Lang (Han ), Ludacris (Tej), Nathalie Emmanuel (Ramsey), Jason Statham (Shawn), and Jason Momoa. It is not ruled out that new actors will be announced in the future. Of course, you can forget to see the return of Dwayne Johnson, since he already made clear his discontent with Diesel.
