Google is preparing to bring a feature that could help you see your friends and colleagues better during video calls with Meet. In fact, the service can automatically increase the brightness of the screen should it notice that the framed subject is too dark . In this way, even those who are in low light conditions should be more visible.
The function has already been available for mobile devices for some time, but starting today it is also coming to those who use Google Meet via browser . Chat administrators will not be able to adjust the brightness, nor set whether it should be activated or not. This choice will in fact remain the discretion of individual users . The reason given by BigG is that it is a function that has an impact on energy consumption and could therefore be counterproductive for users in some situations.
The news is being released for corporate accounts, Workspace and G Suite while it will be distributed to all the others according to the canonical Mountain View scheme. It will first arrive on Rapid Release domains and then move on to Scheduled Release domains from October 4th .
Considering that BigG declares a rollout time of approximately 15 days, by the end of October everyone will be able to benefit from the new function.
