The problem is widespread, so much so that the hashtag # FirefoxDown has already exploded on Twitter: thanks to a message from the developer Velu Erwan on Twitter we were able to find a quick fix that will bring you back to work Firefox.
As explained in the tweet, simply open the advanced settings by typing about: config in the address bar, then search for the string network.
After doing that, close the settings and restart the browser (also killing the process if necessary).
This will disable support for the third version of the HTTP protocol (a recent version, still being defined but already adopted by browsers), but will allow you to resume using Firefox, while waiting for the Mozilla team to fix the problem.
In case you don't want to disable the setting in question, another solution that may work is to restart the router.
