This is what emerges from a survey by the SOStariffe.it Observatory carried out with Segugio.it Rates , which followed the trend in the prices of the offers in the period from May 2021 to May 2022 : in general, the cost of the various promotions for FTTH fiber has dropped by 14% , but at the same time we have seen a surge in nominal speed of approximately 95%.
More specifically, the activation cost has almost halved (from 82 euros to around 48 euros), the standard monthly fee has gone from 29 euros to 27 euros and that linked to particular promotions went from around 27 euros to just over 24 euros on average . Almost double the speed of FTTH optical fiber: it has gone from an average of 599 Mbps to over 1167 Mbps.
The survey then shows how the expenditure for other types of connections has also decreased, such as wireless (decrease of 9% and average cost of 23 , 66 euros), FTTC fiber (decrease of 3% and average cost of 27.58 euros) and ADSL (decrease of 3% and average cost of about 28 euros).
