Go Nokia review: The entry level activity tracker

Go Nokia review to the test of the pass

The kinship between Nokia and Withings is a known fact, which we have already talked about during the review of the Steel model but the topic is topical even while we are preparing to review by Go Nokia, an Activity Tracker probably designed for a casual audience, or for those who do not like the now necessary smartphone disturbances.

Recensione di Go Nokia Yes, because Go is anything but a disturbing object: you remove it from the box, activate it (via the App for iOS and Android) and you forget it on your wrist for several months.

Small, quiet, moderate, Go is ideal for those who want to understand the nature of their day and night movement but, this is important, they do not need very detailed data or continuous stimuli.

On the wrist, or not

Like all Activity Trackers in even Go is typically worn on the wrist: the computing center is collected in a small disk as large as a 1 Euro coin (approximately) and as thick as two, and thanks to a rubber bracelet that houses it can become a mixture of a watch and a smart band.

The central display, probably in electronic ink, shows, in an alternative way, the progression of the steps and the time with the hands (just a click on the dial is enough for the switch).

When the daily goal is reached, the icon of the ‘walking man becomes a star, and the count continues.

If desired, inside the package there is also a small clip (very solid when in action) that houses the computing center, so that it can be worn on a shirt, jeans, or other, and not necessarily on the wrist.

A silent Activity tracker

The Sync with the App takes place in the background, leaving the App open from time to time: as we have already described with Steel ( the app is the same) the idea of having an Application for all Nokia device health is good and intriguing, but in our opinion, it can be a good product only for those who try an Activity Tracker for the first time, not for those has advanced needs and the desire to consult the data quickly and accurately.

But don’t get us wrong, the data is all there and indeed the sleep detection is good, considering that Go does not have a sensor of the heartbeat, and paradoxically, the synthetic nature of the information of the whole system could also be interesting for those users who want a smart accessory but that does not make too much “noise”.

Go in fact does not carry the smartphone notifications, it does not vibrate and does not warn you of anything, the only task is to listen to what you do and translate it into steps, heat ie, awakenings, rem phases, and statistics.

Go Nokia, go!

The review of this Nokia Go, therefore, focuses on a point of view: it is an interesting model that does a silent, almost transparent job, and that transports everything on an App (but it can also be read through the web portal, much more effective) clean, simple and clear, even if some interactions do not it’s so intuitive.

The use of a replaceable battery, with an estimated duration of six months, fits perfectly into this perspective, in which you discard it, wear it and forget it (a little ‘like chocolate, but it hurts less).

In the last phase, the cost (49.99 Euros, available in various colors) is very affordable, especially if you already have a Steel or a Body Cardio scale, and fully describes a project obviously devoted to the more casual range of users, or of those who already have something else and just want perhaps an underwater model without many frills, which basically works, and does not disturb too much.

Readers can find Nokia Go in the official online store, or on Amazon in the colors green, yellow, black, blue, and red, always at the suggested price of 49.99 euros.

Pro :

  • Entry-level solution for those who want to try an activity tracker
  • Double wearing mode
  • Can go into the water

Against:

  • The App is immature
  • Functions are limited

Price: 49.99 Euro (available in blue, black, yellow, red and green)
