The Google Fit app doesn't get updates often, but there have been some noteworthy releases in the past few months. Earlier this year, Google updated the app so that it can use cameras to measure heart or respiratory rates, only with Google Pixel smartphones.
Now the company is rolling out a major update to the app that incorporates some “Material You” design elements and also adds a brand new “Browse” tab. Available in Google Fit version 2.61.14, the new tab provides quick access to all of your health data in six main categories: “Activity”, “Body Measurements”, “Vitals”, “Nutrition”, “Sleep” and ” Cycle monitoring “.
The Browse tab is a better alternative for organizing data as the previous design made it difficult to access or add data to the app. Within this new tab, you can add more detailed information, vital signs such as blood sugar, oxygen saturation, body temperature and much more. The update to Google Fit 2.61.14 is now available through the Google Play Store.
