But only for Workspace and G Suite users
Last November's announcement was like an earthquake in the world of Google users: until before, BigG had always been rather generous with the space made available for online storage. However, for several months now we have all had to deal with the inevitable reality that from June 1st all the photos and files contained in Drive will be counted towards the memory used.
With an announcement on its blog dedicated to Workspace, Google said that the deadline will be postponed to February 1, 2022 . But be careful: the postponement concerns only G Suite and Workspace users , in fact, for all the others the date already communicated remains valid. The new deadline applies to Documents, Sheets, Presentations, Drawings, Forms and Jamboard .
The shift of the advent of the new rules is motivated by the desire to give companies more time to implement new tools for checking and managing the available storage space. Admins will then have a few more months to deal with the restrictions, while all other mere mortals – personal users – will be forced to deal with them in just under two months.
