The old G Suite accounts , used a lot years ago to have your own gmail mailbox with the name of a third party domain , will no longer be free .
The “ Google Apps for businesses and schools ” were introduced 16 years ago, and abandoned since 2012, without changing their pre-existing conditions of use. With the move to Google Workspace, launched last year, the rules for old accounts that have not yet migrated to the new service are now also changed.
The automatic switch to a paid version of Google Workspace will take place on 1 July 2022 (the charge will not start for at least two months, in case of automatic switch), unless the user do not decide otherwise, thus losing the benefits acquired.
