Google Workspace acquires Playspace, the tool for creating an interactive workspace

Google recently acquired Playspace, an innovative digital whiteboard web software that divides users into “rooms” in which they can collaborate with each other with advanced tools, and now new statements have been released by his team.

They have in fact stated that the use of the software will be suspended starting from 9 September 2021, and also all user data will be deleted. The latter, however, have the possibility to export their “possessions” thanks to a practical switch. Following this, Playspace will continue to live as an experience within Google Workspace, however, it is not yet known when this will happen.

With Playspace, users can use the whiteboard, collaborate with each other on notepads and even listen to the same music. Each call participant has their own cursor with the name attached and can use a number of truly innovative tools.

Google Chat, Rooms, Documents, and Jamboard offer the same functionality, but in a less integrated way. As already mentioned we don’t know when Playspace will come to life in Workspace, much less if it will be a separate Workspace app or will end up being integrated into Gmail.
