Home CasaVerdeSmart ,,,,, In the last few days we have had the opportunity to try Homgeek's Mini Blender, a fruit and vegetable blender whose strength is its small size and ease of use. With stainless steel blades it chops everything directly inside a bottle to take smoothies to the gym and is very easy to wash (even in the dishwasher).
How it's made
The blender basically consists of two parts: one is the actual motor (350W) with a steel case and Italian plug. It is quite small (16.8 x 10.8 x 10.8 centimeters) managing to take up very little space in the kitchen and is heavy enough (980 grams) to allow us to place it with extreme stability on the worktop, also thanks to the four rubber feet. on the bottom which greatly increase adherence to contact. It has a single front button that activates the motor only when the cap with the blades is correctly attached.
The latter is in fact screwed to the bottle (there are two in the pack) and represents the heart of the product: the system allows you to quickly prepare smoothies that will be ready to be taken to the gym or to the office. At the end of the blending it will be sufficient to replace the cap with that of the bottle.
The bottles can hold up to 600 ml each and the cap of each is accompanied by a practical handle with a hook that allows it to be easily attached to the belt of the trousers or the strap of a backpack. They are made of transparent plastic, very sturdy and particularly comfortable to hold thanks to the grooves on the sides.
How does it work
To understand how it works, take a look at the video we edited during one of our tests.
In a nutshell, it is sufficient to fill the bottle with the pieces of fruit or vegetables that you intend to blend (if you make them small they blend in a few seconds, but in reality you can also blend much larger pieces well, even dividing a peach into only 4/8 pieces), screw the cap with the blades, turn the bottle upside down and fit it into the upper hole, turning it slightly clockwise to lock it to the nozzle.
Then just insert the plug into the socket and hold down the button to start blending. With softer fruit such as banana or with larger pieces, the blades may not move at all at first: this has happened to us a few times and we solved it by removing the bottle and shaking its contents a little: on the next attempt we completed fruit blending successfully.
At the end all that remains is to remove the bottle, unscrew the cap with the blades and pour the preparation on a bowl if you intend to eat it at home or close the bottle with its cap if the goal is to take the smoothie out of the house.
How is it going
The blending is excellent: the blades, although touching them with a finger seem anything but sharp, they manage instead to shred and pulp any fruit, from the softest like banatas and kiwis to the hardest ones like apples and peaches. Blend everything evenly and in a few seconds.
For those who intend to drink the smoothie immediately, especially in this season, it is advisable to prepare it with fruit previously kept in the refrigerator: if you do not overdo it with the blending, the liquid will not lose too much freshness. It is also possible to use the device to prepare smoothies to drink at home: in cases like this it is advisable to put the bottle in the refrigerator and perhaps pour it all into a bowl, accompanying it with whole pieces of fruit to transform the simple smoothie into a tasty snack. halfway between a smoothie and a fruit salad.
Conclusions
We liked the Homgeek Mini Blender very much because it is very small and allows you to prepare smoothies directly in a bottle, without having to dirty more bowls. The cap with the blades as well as the bottles can be easily washed even in the dishwasher, as the only electrical part (the motor) does not come into contact with the fruit, as it could happen with the classic immersion blenders composed in a single piece. In addition, all you have to do here is press a button: blending from the bottom causes the heavier pieces to descend to the bottom while the mash rises to the surface, creating smooth smoothies and in a few seconds.
