For the most diverse reasons, it happens every day that someone, among the billions of users of social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok, wants to stop being so. However, it is not always easy to unsubscribe from a social network: here's how.
Facebook
The largest social network of all, with approximately 2.7 billion monthly active users, offers two possibilities: the first allows you to deactivate your account making it more or less dormant, the latter instead of totally and irreversibly canceled. Deactivating your account means making it invisible to other users, even to friends. However, the user will continue to be able to access their profile, of which Facebook will obviously continue to keep the saved information, should the deactivated profile be reactivated.
To choose to deactivate your profile you must start from here and before the subsequent confirmations necessary to make everything effective, Facebook explains: “By deactivating your account, your profile will be disabled and your name and your image will be removed from most of the items you shared on Facebook. Some information, such as your name on your friend lists and the messages you have sent, may continue to be visible to other people. ” Once you have deactivated your account, simply enter your email and password in case you want to activate it again.
The actual deletion of your account is instead a more drastic operation, albeit for an initial period of 30 days, however, reversible. You start from the same page from which you start to request the deactivation (this one) and you start a request procedure whose procedures and implications are explained here. Before proceeding with the request for deletion, Facebook allows you to download all your information (photos and posts, for example) so that you can keep them. To users who are more indecisive or hesitant, Facebook reminds that “to cancel the deletion” you can log in “within 30 days of deleting the account” and click on “Cancel deletion”.
Instagram
The social of photos, and now more and more of the Stories, works in a very similar way to Facebook, of which it is a part. Although it is above all a smartphone social network, Instagram does not allow you to unsubscribe via the app. To temporarily disable your account you have to go to the site – even from a smartphone – at this link (remember to the most wandering Instagram that this cannot be done more than once a week). To delete it, also in this case after reading all the relevant warnings, we start from this other link. Even for Instagram, after the request has been made, there is still a period of 30 days within which to change your mind.

Twitter
Unlike Instagram and Facebook, Twitter offers a single option to those who no longer want to have a profile. The option is called “Deactivate your account” and, as explained here by Twitter, «once deactivated, your Twitter account, including your display name, username and public profile, will no longer be visible on twitter .com, Twitter for iOS and Twitter for Android ». To deactivate your account, start from here. Even Twitter allows, before leaving, to download the information relating to your account and to «restore it within 30 days of deactivation». Furthermore, Twitter allows, for those interested in re-registering with another account, to “make the username and email address available and reuse them before deactivating the account”.

TikTok
For many who may not even have it, there will certainly be someone who is tired of it and already can't take it anymore. For them, or for those who perhaps went there out of curiosity and doesn't know what to do with yet another account, the information to unsubscribe is here and to do so just go, via the app, to Settings and privacy> Account management> Delete account.
