Huawei announces the Watch GT Runner, a smartwatch for athletes with autonomy of up to two weeks

Huawei has expanded its catalog of smart watches with a new model from the Watch GT family focused on athletes. The new Huawei Watch GT Runner arrives with a much lighter design and includes new features for health and sports that can be useful for users who practice running.

Huawei's Watch GT Runner, unlike its little brother, the Watch GT 3, has a more sporty look. However, it does not leave aside that design line that stands out so much in the company's watch catalog. Specifically, it has a rounded 46 mm case made of polymer fiber, a material that makes it much lighter than the rest of the models, with weighing 38.5 grams. It also includes a silicone strap with perforations that allows greater comfort when playing sports.

Inside that light box are the different monitoring and location sensors that work under TrueSeen 5.0 technology. One of them is the heart rate meter. This sensor allows the Huawei Watch GT Runner to have a control of the pulsations even in those moments when the user is doing demanding training. It also has a satellite location sensor located on the tongue of the smartwatch for more precise positioning when recording routes.

The HUAWEI Watch GT Runner as a personal trainer

At the software level, and thanks to the TruSportTM system, the Huawei Watch GT Runner is capable of offering runners relevant information about training. Also suggestions related to the physical activity that the user is performing, such as what the recovery time should be. It maintains, like the rest of the brand's devices, the possibility of recording progress or managing training through an application available for iOS and Android.

Regarding the specifications, the Huawei Watch GT Runner arrives with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and includes 4 GB RAM. All this, with a battery that can provide up to 14 days of use. The company has also opted for HarmonyOS as an operating system. This includes an adapted interface, different proprietary applications and the possibility of synchronizing relevant information with the smartphone. For example, the music library or notifications.

How much does Huawei's new smartwatch cost?

The Huawei Watch GT Runner is now available for purchase through the company's online store and authorized dealers. Its price is 329 euros, 100 euros more than the Watch GT 3 in its 46 mm version.
