Huawei's swanky new earbuds are loaded in a lipstick-shaped case

Huawei has returned to the global market with the Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 8i, two mid-range smartphones with cameras up to 64 megapixels and a 66W fast-charging battery. The Chinese company usually launches accessories with its renewed smartphones, and this time it was not going to be different. Huawei has announced some new – and strange – headphones called FreeBuds Lipstick . And yes, the case is shaped like a lipstick.

The company boasts on its website that the new headphones are a “true fashion statement.” The lipstick-shaped case is constructed of stainless steel, manufactured “over 30 processes of intricate design and polished to a high standard.” Thus achieving a shiny and premium appearance, but that hardly makes sense in a device of these characteristics.

In addition to its ostentatious design the case serves both to store and to charge the Huawei wireless headphones. These have a autonomy of up to 22 hours without active noise cancellation or up to 14 hours with the mode sound isolation system in operation.

The new Huawei headphones are actually a FreeBuds 4 with a new case

Beyond the case, the FreeBuds Lipstick are exactly identical to the FreeBuds 4. They have the same design as the current Huawei mid-range headphones, tracing the finish in red and an elongated stem that includes touch controls to control the music playback. They also arrive with active noise cancellation and high resolution sound thanks to their bass and 14.3 mm dynamic drivers. The price of this special edition is unknown, but everything indicates that they will be available at a higher price than the current models.

In parallel to the new headphones, Huawei has announced the availability of the Nova 9 and Nova 8i, two smartphones that arrive with Android 11, but without Google services. The Huawei Nova 9 can be purchased at a price of 499 euros , and includes a Snapdragon processor with 4G, a camera of up to 50 megapixels and a fast charge of 66W.

On the other hand, the Nova 8i comes with a less powerful SoC and a higher resolution camera, with 64 megapixels. It also includes a 4,300 mAh battery with the same charging power as its older brother. All this at a price of 349 euros .
