Iliad and TIM join forces for fiber FTTH . To be precise, the agreement is with FiberCop , an infrastructure company controlled by TIM at 58%, but there is also a 4.5% of Fastweb , and soon an agreement should also be signed with Tiscali .
FiberCop builds the secondary access network in optical fiber, but TIM will also offer Iliad access to the primary network. The aim is to achieve coverage in FTTH of 75% of the gray and black areas of Italy by 2025 . FiberCop already offers ultrabroadband connections to over 93% of fixed lines , in FTTC or FTTH technology.
This is therefore a shrewd “bipartisan”, which confirms Iliad's commitment to the digitization of the country and at the same time confirms the effectiveness of the co-investment model in FiberCop wanted by TIM.
