A woman in Tempe, Arizona (USA) died after being hit by an Uber self-driving car, in what is arguably the first in the history of a fatal accident caused by an Uber car. this type. The woman was transported to the hospital where she died shortly after, from her injuries. Uber uses self-driving cars in several US cities, but the service is still experimental and still requires a person behind the wheel, who must intervene in an emergency. An Uber spokesperson said the company intends to “cooperate fully” with local authorities and expressed condolences to the family. Uber has also suspended testing in all other cities including Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Toronto.
