In March 2019, Google will close Allo, its app for exchanging messages

Google has announced that it will close Allo, an application for exchanging messages that it put online just two years ago. The news was long overdue, considering that Google had stopped investing resources for new Allo developments already last April, dealing with very little use of its application by users. Allo will close in March 2019, allowing time for its users to save the archive of their conversations if they wish. Google has been trying for years to create a successful messaging app, comparable to WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, but so far it has always failed by offering products that are little used by its users, especially on Android devices.
