In test the smartwatch NO.1 G12: the clone of the Fitbit Versa is served

There are truly countless smartwatches on the market today, many of which intend to propose an original design, others that instead try to draw inspiration from well-known brands. NO.1 G12 is among the latter, and just look at a simple photo to understand which smartwatch is inspired by: aesthetically it is a clone of the well-known Fitbit Versa. Here's what it's capable of.

What immediately catches the eye of the smartwatch, needless to say, is the aesthetics. It is a fitness watch that takes its cue from the well-known Fitbit brand. It offers a fairly minimal and modern look, with a slightly flattened dial, with a single side button.

The strap is in the Milanese loop style, comfortable and easy to wear, while the materials of the case betray that it is a low-cost peripheral, resulting in plastic. Overall, however, it is well built and assembled, and can be seen on the wrist without any particular problems.

NO.1 G12, needless to hide it, has its winning weapon in the price, considering that it costs just over 20 euros. Whether it is a low-cost watch, you can immediately notice it when you turn it on.

First of all, the screen is not a touchscreen, but the management of the UI takes place with a single button located on the lower part. It is almost invisible, because it is a soft touch button hidden in the lower frame. With a single touch you can move to the next option in the menu, while keeping the finger pressed you select that specific item.

The screen offers a 1.3-inch diagonal, with a resolution of 240 x 240, which is not bad at all considering the selling price. The Nordic 52832 chip, a 64K RAM and a 512K ROM move the clock. Obviously, this is a very “minimal” service package, which in any case makes no effort, considering a very primordial and synthetic UI.

The clock provides the user with three different watch faces, one of which analog, two digital. To tell the truth, the menus are not modern at all and undoubtedly have dated icons, even if all the information is always in the right place, at the user's fingertips.

The default watch faces is however appreciable, because it shows the clock, the steps and the calories burned, which are the main information that the user will benefit most, being a low cost fitness watch.

The step count returned by the watch is quite accurate. We wore it together with a Mi Band 4, which we believe to be accurate in the count. It slightly overestimates the steps, while with the heart rate calculation we recorded slightly lower data than the Xiaomi competitor.

Also available are the tracking functions of sports activities, including running, walking, even football. During the run, the bracelet returns all the most important information, such as the heart rate, the number of steps, and the duration of the activity: it should be noted that during the run it is also possible to track the data lap by lap, therefore also suitable for training on the track.

The charging system is interesting, with a magnetic cable that attaches to the back of the watch. The only minor drawback is that the cable itself tends to stick to the steel strap.

There is no denying it, NO.1 G12 attracts above all for its aesthetics (if you like the Fitbit style) and the price, which is the most positive factor. Good for basic functions, such as step counting and heart rate reading, while we still don't think it is an optimal choice for more important and professional fitness use.
