Home Reviews ,,,,, It is among the most complete backpacks to carry photographic equipment. That of Inateck is a solution capable of containing a good set of reflex and lenses and has the right spaces to contain all the accessories, including a computer, as well as a pocket designed specifically to carry the tripod. There are pockets for memory cards, pockets for cell phones, wallets, glasses and any other items you want to store with care.
We tried it for a few weeks, appreciating the arrangement of the pockets and openings, which allow quick access to most of the contents without necessarily having to remove the backpack or open the pockets completely. The compartment on the backrest is also excellent, protecting the most precious contents from theft in crowded areas, keeping it tidy and easy to manage. Here are our impressions.
How it's made
First of all, the materials with which it was made are commendable. The outer bag is made of tear-resistant and splash-proof fabric. It is also very beautiful to look at and the design with the buckles is classic but not uncomfortable to use. The buckles are in fact only scenic, as the main opening is managed by two magnetic buttons and possibly by a velcro band that can be conveniently “deactivated” by means of an integrated strip of fabric, leaving only the two to manage the opening. buttons.
The upper pocket is then closed like a bag with a cord and is large enough to hold various objects, even those not related to photographic equipment. In one of our outings we used it for example to hold binoculars, glasses, emergency battery and sweatshirt. The contents of this pocket can also be quickly accessed through a side opening, normally closed by a zip.
Inside there is a second pocket that can hold for example handkerchiefs, a notebook, a pen, and small objects. Another larger pocket allows you to hold a 15 '' computer instead (We tested it with the MacBook Pro retina 15 ''). We particularly appreciated not only the presence of this pocket but also the choice of position, which unlike most backpacks is not located near the backrest, but on the opposite side. In this way we will not end up with a rigid back when we wear the backpack. There is also another pocket in the upper part of the latter, also quite large and capable of holding another series of medium-sized objects.
As for the “extra photographic” pockets, there is also a large front pocket with various attached pockets. Here, for example, you can store your smartphone, wallet, documents and possibly even a tablet, each stored in a specific pocket.
The main pocket dedicated to the transport of photographic equipment is located on the back of the backrest. With the circular opening, it allows you to open the lower half of the backpack to find yourself in front of a large compartment already divided with the special padded and removable dividers. It is possible to change the position of the compartments, adapting them to your equipment. On average, there is room for 3–4 medium-sized lenses. The camera can be inserted wherever you prefer even if the most obvious and by far functional position is on the right: in fact, near the latter there is a second side opening that allows you to quickly access this area of the photographic compartment. . This is a very useful pocket for quickly extracting and storing the camera without removing the backpack from the shoulders.
On the opposite side of the backpack there is finally a mesh pocket that can hold a bottle of water or on a tripod. For the latter the company has prepared both a strap with a carabiner to lock it more securely to the backpack, and a pocket on the removable bottom that not only avoids tearing the mesh pocket, but also allows the tripod to be transported semi-open. .
The back of the backrest is heavily padded and protected by a breathable fabric which, especially in summer, allows the back to breathe while minimizing perspiration. We also find the same material in the shoulder straps, also very wide and padded, a wise choice when you have to load several kilograms of equipment on the shoulders. From this point of view, a buckle is missing to tighten them to the chest, while there is a band to close the shoulder straps around the waist as a belt, reducing the movements of the backpack during long journeys on foot.
The package also includes a waterproof bag that allows you to completely wrap the backpack protecting its contents in case of heavy rain.
How is it going
The choice falls on a backpack of this type when you have equipment consisting of at least one reflex and three lenses. If you want, there is also room for more lenses, it all depends on the size of each of them. Due to its high capacity, we greatly appreciated the weight distribution: dedicating the lower part of the backpack to photographic equipment helps in carrying the backpack, whose weight will weigh more in the lower part. Thus, the belt allows us to unload part of the weight around the waist, avoiding having it weigh only on the shoulders.
The tripod only unbalances the backpack if it is not filled properly. Paradoxically, with the backpack loaded, the tripod did not negatively affect from this point of view, making us even forget it in the longer stretches. It must be said that in our case we do not even have a tripod that is too heavy: our Manfrotto BeFree weighs just 1.4 kg.
We really liked the access to the photographic equipment on the back, not only because it reassures us from possible thefts but also because, due to the position in which it is located, it is easy to access it to quickly replace a lens. Thanks to the belt it is in fact possible to bend down and rotate the backpack on the front, resting it on one leg: in this way the main compartment is quickly opened, the lens is changed, and you are immediately ready to go again.
Conclusions
Inateck's reflex backpack turned out to be a pleasant discovery. Initially we would not have bet on it: we are used to a more compact backpack (which in comparison can carry even fewer objects) and its size had initially discouraged us. However, trying it for some photographic output we changed our mind: it is really comfortable and the wide shoulder straps help a lot in long sessions, moreover there is really all the space you need for other objects, allowing us to eliminate baby carriers and other annoying bags for storing mobile phones. , keys and other personal effects.
Retail price
The price is in line with the quality of the product and with other backpacks of the same characteristics: on Amazon you can find it for 79.99 euros. It is temporarily discounted with a code of 67.99 euros.
