Instagram makes it easier to remove activity from your profile

Instagram has been updated, and with the new feature you can remove the activity you don't want to see on your profile. New controls let you delete comments, photos, search history, and more; all this with the touch of a finger.

The new function arrives in a new section within the app. This section, called “Your activity“, has been created by Instagram with a goal with a reason in mind. From “Your activity”, you will be able to delete likes, comments, photos and other activity from the past. The novelty is that, in addition to having a dedicated section for this content, you can select multiple interactions and delete them at the same time.

Before the release of this update, if we wanted to remove something we had to go to the content, one by one, and do it manually. Whether it was comments or likes, it was a pretty tedious way to remove content. However, now we can do it with a single touch within the “Your activity” section.

A new way to interact with your Instagram content

According to comments from Engadget, this new section of Instagram will also have other uses. For example, from “Your activity” you can have direct access to past posts, either in the Stories or in your Feed. In addition, you will be able to see your comments left on the publications of other users. The section will also allow you to review the time you have spent in the app, your search history, clicks on links; as well as the changes you have made to your account —modification of your username, for example—.

Instagramunveiled this feature in December. At the time, the company announced the feature as a feature “especially important for teens to better understand the information they've shared on Instagram.” However, it is clear that there is no age limit for those who want to use it.

It is expected that in the coming months we will receive other new features in the app. Instagram announced a few weeks ago that they will improve their algorithm to hide harmful content automatically. They have also announced a subscription system so that users can support their favorite creators economically; receiving exclusive content as a reward.
