Instagram will allow you to mark users as favorites so that their publications appear first

Instagram is working on a new feature called “Favorites”, developer Alessandro Paluzzi has discovered. Specifically, the social network will allow to choose users as favorites so that their publications appear on the front line.

For some time now, the Instagram algorithm has shown the order of publications based on a person's interests and the users with whom someone frequently interacts usually appear first. With this new option, which is currently under development and could come to iOS and Android in the future, it will be possible to “circumvent” the algorithm and choose contacts as favorites so that their publications appear in the upper area of the feed.

The function can be very useful to, for example, make the publications of your favorite artist or your friends appear in the first line and do not disappear among the posts of other users . It will also avoid activating the notifications that warn each time someone makes a new publication. Instagram warns that no notice will be sent when a person adds someone to their favorites list.

We do not know, at the moment, if the “Favorites” option will also be available for stories. Internet users can create their list through their account settings , in a specific section that will be available once this feature is activated.

Instagram is working on a handful of features that will be coming to the app soon

the “Favorites” function is not the only one we will see soon on the social network. Additionally, Instagram also works on the possibility of including music in the publications. An option that is already available in the stories and through the reels. In this case, it will be possible to choose one of the many songs available in the Instagram library. On the other hand, the social network owned by Facebook will allow interaction through “likes” in stories, as happens in publications.

Instagram is also implementing a new way of including links . The classic “Swipe up” are disappearing from the platform, and those accounts with more than 10,000 followers or that are verified, will have to add a widget that shows the link. According to The Verge, the social network is considering bringing the links to all users, even those who do not meet the current requirements.
