Instagram has started to introduce an update that will allow users to “silence” the posts or stories of the profiles they follow: that is, users will be able to continue following those profiles without having to see their published content, as can already be done on Facebook or Twitter. The update, as often happens in these cases, will arrive “in the next few weeks”: some users will have it sooner, others later. Instagram explained that you can choose whether to silence both the Stories and the photos, or only the Stories or only the photos. The option will obviously be reversible and “silenced” users will not know that they have been silenced.
Instagram said it introduced the option to allow users to personalize their experience more. We all know that they did it to allow users to stop seeing boring photos of people who, perhaps for family or work reasons, it would be inappropriate to stop following.
To silence a profile it will be sufficient to go to the upper right part next to a name, where there are the three dots. From there, a menu will open which, once the update has taken place, will allow you to silence Stories and / or photos.
