Internet Explorer 11 support will end on June 15, 2022
Internet Exploer , Microsoft's browser installed on all versions of Windows starting as early as 1995 , is ready for retirement: Microsoft has in fact made public that browser support will completely end on June 15, 2022 .
The company has declared that, as of August 17, 2021 , the applications included in the suite Microsoft 365 will follow the example of the Teams web app and will no longer work with the browser , supported by Microsoft it will completely terminate starting from June next year . All of this will not affect the LTSC ( Long-Term Servicing Channel ) version of Windows 10.
The reasons for this choice are quite clear and mainly concern the compatibility of pages and web apps , certainly more optimized on the browser based on Chromium such as Microsoft Edge, and security , since Internet Explorer is much more “prone” to cyber attacks, being less up to date. The future is therefore totally in the hands of Microsoft Edge , constantly updated and certainly more “modern” than IE.
