Italians are increasingly connected , and the pandemic has reinforced this trend. This is what emerges from the “Digital Consumer Trends Survey 2021” by Deloitte . Confirmations emerged from this research, such as the increasing use of smartwatches (one in five Italians uses it) and streaming video (63% of respondents declare their use). The data on smartwatches, mainly used by young people, especially for counting steps, is interesting.
From the research, some surprises emerge, such as the partial disaffection towards social networks , 22% of Italians are in fact disconnected from one or more platforms. The motivations? In general due to fears about the use of their data and lack of confidence in the news reported. Also interesting is the correlation between those who use social media most as a source of information and the tendency to believe in conspiracy theories .
The use of video games is growing strongly, but with a low propensity to make purchases in-app , and a very wide, almost universal, use of home banking platforms. Even 83% of respondents said they check their current account from their smartphone.
