Jack Dorsey, founder and CEO of Twitter , has announced his resignation: not only will he be stepping down from his role as CEO, but will be leaving completely from the company, which he founded in 2006.
He announced it on Twitter, posting a screenshot of the email he sent to employees. In the message he communicates that the new CEO will be the former CTO Parag Agrawal , and claims his decision, taken for the good of the company, that he will no longer have to submit to the influences of its founder.
Over the years, Dorsey had given the impression of being a very thoughtful and self-critical person, so much so that he was often viewed as the opposite of Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg.
In this regard, we can only ask ourselves if one of the last sentences is not really an allusion to Zuckerberg.
I want you to know this was my decision and I claim it. It was a difficult decision for me, of course. I love this service and the company …. and I love all
of you so much. I am very sad … but also very happy. There aren't many companies that get to this level. And there aren't many founders who choose their company above their egos. I know we will prove it was the right move.
