Kickstarter , the popular crowdfunding platform, is working on the creation of an open source protocol which will serve to create “a decentralized version of the main features of Kickstarter “: the protocol in question will exploit a blockchain and will be usable by everyone (including platform competitors) for the creation of no better specified services.
The protocol will be developed by a private company, which will receive funds from Kickstarter: this will be based on a modified version of the Celo blockchain and should become operational in 2022 .
