Chinese manufacturers are increasingly aggressive with their offers for notebooks and this notebook KUU K2 that we have had the opportunity to try, a machine with a Celeron 4115 processor, 8GB of RAM and drives is no exception. SSD that offers a more than excellent price / performance ratio. Here are the characteristics and our impressions.
Packaging
The machine arrives in an anonymous cardboard box inside which we find the real notebook placed in a bag, the power supply, the adapter for the Italian plug and the stickers for the keyboard with the various international layouts (including that Italian).
The dimensions are: 32x22x1,6cm, the weight is 1350g. Aesthetically, the machine has an elegant light copper color; on the back there is the manufacturer's logo; on the left side we have the power supply port, a USB-C port and a micro HDMI (for connecting the computer to a screen or a TV); on the right we have the memory card reader, headphone jack and USB 3 port.

Open the lid shows the matte screen from 14.1 “(IPS with resolution FUll HD of 1920 × 1080) with ratio 3: 2, viewing angle of 178 °. The colors are slightly subdued but the brightness is excellent and the view is perfect even in very bright environments The webcam (0.9MP) is positioned in the upper part in the center of the edge of the display and on the upper part of the edge it is possible to select a “privacy mode” ”To activate / deactivate the webcam on the fly. The quality of the webcam is not very high but it is not bad if the lighting conditions are good.
The nM.2 SSD is not lightning fast but it is fast (261 MB / Sec write and 267 MB / Sec read in our tests). We tested the version with 256GB SSD but the notebook is also available in the variant with 512GB SSD.
In the center we have a large trackpad (precise and easy to use); the keyboard is backlit and the keys are comfortable and of standard size. There is no numeric keypad but the trackpad can be transformed into a keypad.
Other technical characteristics
The processor is an Intel Celeron “Gemini Lake” J4115 with a 14nm construction process; offers 4 cores and supports 4 threads; the base frequency is 1.8GHz but with Turbo Mode it reaches 2.5GHz. The graphics are the Intel UHD Graphics 600, capable of reproducing even videos in 4K at 60 Hz with a color depth of 10 Bit.
The standard RAM is 8GB (DDR3), support for 2.4 GHz / 5.0 GHz Dual WiFi networks is integrated, Bluetotooth 4.1 and there is a lightning-fast fingerprint reader (on the power button) automatically recognized by Windows in the initial setup phase (can therefore be used to gain access to the device with Windows Hello).

The battery (5000mmAh) offers autonomy in relation to the type of processor: typically 12 hours of standby time and just over 4 hours of average use. Full charging in our tests took about 2 hours to finish. The speakers are small and tend to reproduce the medium and high frequencies more; the volume is good but not excessively loud. The audio captured by the microphone is of more than sufficient quality for video conferences and the like.
Performance
The performance is in line with what is possible from Celeron processors. Benchmarks with Geekbench showed a score of 415 in single-core tests and 1440 in multi-core tests. not high performance but, taking into account the selling price, more than adequate for the range of users to which the product is aimed. When you begin to have many applications open in the background you notice some slowdown, but for a “home” or school use the performance is adequate; the notebook is NOT suitable for gaming with new generation games or in photo / video editing applications.

Conclusions
The price shouldn't be deceiving: the machine looks good, looks sturdy and offers everything a non-demanding student or professional desires. Certainly it is not a suitable machine for working with “demanding” applications but for managing e-mails, browsing the web, simply using Office applications, watching a streaming movie and things like that, it is more than perfect. It is suitable for those looking for an economical machine to work in smart working but do not want to spend too much to buy a notebook to work with.

The real strength of the Kuu K2 is the selling price. At the time of writing it is offered at 293.77 euros on Gearbest (price including shipping), a more than interesting offer to have a notebook with an aluminum case and more than enough performance for “home” use, for leisure activities or exploit productivity applications.
