Logitech has officially introduced the Logi Dock , a new accessory that promises to be the best companion for these times of remote or hybrid work. This device, in reality, groups two products in one: on the one hand, it replaces the classic connection hub that many people use to simplify their desks; on the other, it is a speaker with which you can play music while you work or participate in your Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams calls.
Behind the Logi Dock has a total of seven ports . The main one is a USB-C that goes to the computer. This is capable of delivering up to 100W of power, so technically it can easily charge computers like the 16-inch MacBook Pro. This port, in turn, transmits the image signal. Therefore, a single cable is all we need to recharge the laptop and transmit the image signal to the Logi Dock – which will then send it to the monitor that we have connected -.
The new Logitech hub also has on its back two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports and two image outputs that we can use to connect external monitors. It also has Bluetooth technology.
The Logi Dock integrates with the Logi Dune application , which allows you to get even more out of this device. Logitech indicates that, with this application as an intermediary, the device will be able to emit different light signals when a meeting is about to begin. The Dock also has several buttons that make it easy to join the meeting, mute the microphone or turn on the camera.
How much will the Logitech Logi Dock cost?
The new Logi Dock will be available in “winter 2021” . It can be purchased in two colors: white and graphite. However, the brand points out in the press release that only the version compatible with Microsoft Teams can be purchased in this second color. The price of the same will be, in the United States, 399 dollars.
