The last time Xiaomi launched a tablet under its Mi Pad line was almost four years ago. Now the company is ready to revive the series with the new Mi Pad 5 range. Recent rumors had revealed designs very similar to Apple's devices, iPad Pro. Today we finally have an official launch date.
For some time there has been rumors of a possible launch of the new Xiaomi tablet in August, but now we have an official confirmation from Xiaomi itself. In a post on Weibo, Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi Pad 5 will launch on August 10 next week, just one day before Samsung's mega Galaxy Unpacked event. Xiaomi also shared a teaser showing that the tablet will be equipped with stylus support, named Xiaomi Smart Pen according to a recently spotted FCC listing.
Not much is known about the other specifications of the Mi Pad 5 range. It is said that the tablet could be equipped with a 10.9-inch IPS LCD display with a frequency of 120Hz upgrade, Snapdragon 8 series processor, a dual-camera setup on the back and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
